Security Best Practice

To keep your OpenLab system secure and stable, it is essential to apply operating system (OS) security updates promptly.

Overview​

Windows and Oracle Linux security updates are published to the CID Hub shortly after they become publicly available from Microsoft and Oracle.

  • Windows updates: The corresponding Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article/s are shown in the Software Library section of the CID Hub.
  • Linux updates: Release notes for Linux updates show the contents included in each update.

Linux update

Automatic Update Selection​

When new OS updates are released in the CID Hub, they are automatically selected in the software pages for all servers and CIDs. You do not need to manually select these updates.

After this selection, each CID automatically begins downloading the updates.

Important

Once the download is complete, you must initiate the installation from the CID Hub.
